Saturn V: Part 1

I tried a test or the model of the Saturn V I want to build. I should have started with the boosters, but I wanted something a little easier to get a feel for the construction process and how complicated it might be. I’m glad that I did.

The instructions didn’t mention that the internal reinforcements should span the gaps otherwise you end up with ugly folds in the paper due to the pressure points.

I made a little guy and shot him in front of the model to give you a sense of scale of what 1:48 scale is and then put a lighter in the scene. He’s even smaller than the lighter!

This is gonna be fun! I’m already planning on the Falcon Heavy, and Nasa’s SLS/Orion… just a little bigger than then Saturn V.

In the photos, I’ve boxed in red the part of the model I’ve made, and then enlarged it for clarification.
